Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has called on the club to "fix" Conor Gallagher's contract situation amid transfer links with Tottenham.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  The midfielder has been one of Chelsea's best players this season but it appears he is no closer to signing a new deal, with the 24-year-old out of contract in the summer of 2025. Manager Pochettino has repeatedly sung the England international's praises and now he has once again called on the Blues to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge, while links with Spurs and Newcastle United continue.

  WHAT MAURICIO POCHETTINO SAID

  After Chelsea's 2-0 win over Tottenham on Thursday night, where Gallagher impressed once again, the Argentine was asked for the latest on Gallagher's future.

  He replied: "I am not involved. I do not know nothing."

  When quizzed on how important he was to Chelsea, he added: "You can see. My starting XI, the whole season he has always been there, in all of the circumstances he is always there. I am not involved in the decision. It is a situation they need to fix between the club and the player."

  Although Gallagher has scored six goals and bagged nine assists in all competitions this season, the former Crystal Palace loanee may yet be sold this summer. Chelsea fear falling afoul of the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules and selling an academy product like Gallagher – who is reportedly valued at £60 million ($75.3m) – would go down as 'pure profit' on their balance sheet. While the fans clearly do not want him to go, the midfielder's days at the club could be numbered.
