Tottenham have improved significantly under Mauricio Pochettino in recent years but signs of a blip have emerged at stages of the current campaign.
The Lilywhites did not sign a single player during the summer transfer window and are now seeking additional recruits to bolster their depth, which is currently looking very slim following a wealth of injury issues.
Pochettino seems to have his eye cast on defensive additions as reports have stated he is plotting a move for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake, who has impressed on the South Coast since leaving Chelsea to join the Cherries.

Initially impressing on loan with Eddie Howe’s side, the 5ft 11in ace Ake moved to the club on a permanent basis last summer and the 23-year-old has caught the eye since – which seems to have led to Tottenham’s interest.
With Toby Alderweireld’s future still unclear, Spurs’ chase for a new central defender is not surprising and Ake would be a solid addition who could develop into a star for the Lilywhites under Pochettino’s guidance.
