  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Guardiola is one of the greatest football managers of all time and while his sport is very different to basketball, different disciplines can certainly be helpful in other athletic pursuits. Incidentally, Boston are now preparing for game one of the NBA Finals against Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Guardiola himself has previously spoken about studying tennis and basketball to understand how to improve his footballing teams.

"Incredible athletes, [Roger] Federer, [Novak] Djokovic, [Rafa] Nadal. The biggest dynasties in the NBA. It’s not easy in the NBA to have a team like the Chicago Bulls with [Michael] Jordan. I’m not comparing with that, don’t misunderstand me. The NBA has a lot of clubs with two or three in a row," he said earlier this year.
